This year will see the 46th edition of the Copa America, the international football tournament featuring teams from South America. However, as has been the case in recent years, the Copa America will welcome teams from outside the confederation with Qatar and Japan participating in the event.
The 2019 Copa America will take place between the 14th June and 7th July and Brazil is the host nation. Having hosted the 2014 World Cup, this will be nothing new for Brazil and six venues will be used across five different cities.
The final will be held at the Estádio do Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro on the 7th July. The question is, which of the 12 participating teams will reach the final and who will win the Copa America 2019? Continue below for our Copa America predictions and for the latest Copa America 2019 odds.
You must go back to the 2007 Copa America in Venezuela to find the last time Brazil lifted the trophy. That team did not include any of what you would consider to be Brazil’s best players of the past 20 years although they did have Robinho, who was being touted as the next superstar of Brazilian football. The same could be said for the current Brazil squad, who will be hoping Neymar returns to fitness in time for the tournament. Other than the Paris Saint-Germain forward, Brazil do not have a player competing with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player in the world but what they do have is a group of talented players throughout the team. From Ederson and Alisson in goal to Marqinhos and Thiago Silva in defence, Casemiro and Philippe Coutinho in midfield and Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Jesus up-front, Brazil have a group of good players. They may not have the same ring to them as Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho but they are more than good enough to win this tournament, especially on home soil.
Brazil are the Copa America 2019 favourites priced at 5/4 with Bet365. Which other teams could give the hosts a run for their money at the 2019 Copa America?

2. Copa America 2019 Picks
Chile enter the 2019 Copa America as the defending champions and they have won each of the last two editions of the tournament. They defeated Argentina on penalties in both finals following a 0-0 draw and neutral fans will be hoping they do not meet again and make it three Copa America finals in succession to finish 0-0. Unfortunately for Chile, their best player in recent years, Alexis Sanchez has been struggling with both injury and poor form since joining Manchester United from Arsenal. They have also been drawn with Uruguay and Japan in their group, which is not going to be easy, especially considering the recent form of the Japanese at the 2018 World Cup and 2019 Asian Cup.
Therefore, it comes as little surprise to see Chile down the pecking order in the Copa America odds, priced at 10/1 to win the tournament with Bet365.
As highlighted above, Argentina have reached the last two finals of the Copa America, only to lose out to Chile on penalties both times. They will be hoping to make three finals in a row but this time they will want to come out on top, without the need for a penalty shootout. There has been much debate over whether Lionel Messi will play for Argentina at the 2019 Copa America but recent reports suggest he will make himself available. Clearly this is going to make a lot of difference to Argentina’s chances of success.
They continue to look strong in the forward positions but the remainder of the team still has question marks. They should have little trouble qualifying but at 4/1 with Bet365, we may better off looking elsewhere.
4. Copa America 2019 Betting Predictions
Finally, in our Copa America predictions we take a look at some of the other teams who have the potential to win the tournament. One of those is in the same group as Argentina and that’s Colombia. They were unlucky to go out of the 2018 World Cup at the Round of 16 stage to England on penalties and will feel they can go deep in this tournament. The creativity of James Rodriguez and goals of Radamel Falcao will be key and you can back Colombia at 8/1 with Bet365.
With a strike force of Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez, Uruguay are always going to be a dangerous opponent. They should come out on top of a group containing Chile, Japan and Ecuador but will need Diego Godin fit at the back if they to lift the trophy. Uruguay are 7/1 to win the 2019 Copa America and make a good bet.
