After months of qualification matches and plenty of blood, sweat and tears, the two finalists for the League of Legends World Championships 2019 are at last known.
FunPlus Phoenix and G2 Esports will battle it out for the LoL Worlds 2019 prize pool that stands at $1 million in the November 10 showdown, in what will be the culmination of months of qualifiers held all around the globe.
But there can only be one winner, and for those involved the chance to become a LoL world champion could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The road has been a long one. In their group, G2 Esports actually lost out to Griffin, and so had to settle for second place. But they bounced back in the knockout phase of the competition with comfortable victories over DAMWON Gaming and SK Telecom T1 to book their place in the final.
The journey has been a touch easier for FunPlus Phoenix, who won their group decider with Splyce before handing out 3-1 defeats to Fnatic and Invictus Gaming in the quarter and semi-finals respectively.
So the scene is nicely set for the final, which will be held at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris. Thousands will be in attendance, with tens of millions watching online from around the world.
If you want to have a bet on the LoL World Championship final, then we have got everything you need to know in this guide. We’ll let you know the best places to bet, who is offering the most generous LoL Worlds odds and how you can watch the action unfold with a dedicated live stream.
We are ready: FunPlus Phoenix vs G2 Esports predictions, bring it on!
The bookmakers have published their League of Legends Worlds 2019 betting odds, and while a favourite has emerged the prices suggest this could be a hard-fought and close contest.
Head to Thunderpick and you will see that G2 Esports have been made a 1.68 favourite to win the LOL Worlds final 2019. FunPlus Phoenix are a veritable underdog at 2.09.
Of course, there are plenty of sub-markets to wager on, and Arcanebet has the best of them. They have made the map handicap line 1.5, with the -1.5 handicap going to G2 at odds of 2.70. FunPlus, with a +1.5 mark, are 1.41.
You can also wager on the Correct Score market. G2 Esports to win 3-1 is 4.20 and 3-2 is 4.50, with a selection of other options available to bettors.
2. League of Legends Worlds 2019 Predictions
So, how are we shaping up our League of Legends Worlds 2019 predictions?
This is, in many ways, unchartered territory for both of these teams. Neither has made it to the final of the LoL World Championships before, with G2 a losing semi-finalist back in 2018. This is FunPlus’s first run past the quarters, let alone the final!
Perhaps that experience will be key to our LoL Worlds predictions. G2 Esports play in the European Championships (LEC) each year, which is an incredibly high level of competition, and they continue to enjoy plenty of success too: back in April they won the 2019 Spring LEC event.
They also won the Summer Split regular campaign, while becoming the first European team to an international Riot Games sponsored event in nearly a decade at the Mid-Season Invitational – trouncing Team Liquid 3-0 in the final, no less.
As for FunPlus Phoenix, we cannot wholly write them off. They have enjoyed their own success in the LoL Pro League over in China this year, winning the regular season league before suffering a shock defeat in the semi-finals. They would have their revenge in the Summer Split, however, again wining the regular championship before going o to lift the trophy.
And anyone that saw their semi-final win over reigning champions Invictus Gaming in the Worlds the other day will know that this is a team not to be taken lightly.
So, making accurate LoL Worlds 2019 predictions is difficult: simply put, we have two of the best teams in the world going at it, with plus points to both. It’s a contest that is almost too close to call….
3. LoL Worlds 2019 Betting Tips
With so little to choose between the teams, our LoL Worlds final betting tips surely have to focus on the distinct possibility that this match could go all the way to the fifth map.
And so, with that in mind, we surely have to seriously consider betting on Over 4.5 Maps, which you’ll find available at Arcanebet at odds of 2.55.
The last two World finals have finished 3-0 to the champion – Samsung in 2017 and Invictus 12 months ago, but remember that this is two teams making their first appearance in the final of this competition. We expect neither to give an inch, while hoping that they can replicate their best form on the big stage.
Ultimately, we expect the class in G2 Esports’ roster to shine through. The likes of Caps, Jankos and Perkz are widely regarded as among the best in the business, and all three have already picked up an MVP award at various stages of the tournament so far.
As such, we’re expecting G2 Esports to just shade a very close battle, and on that note betting them to win 3-2 at odds of 4.50 looks set to be a smart move.
4. League of Legends Worlds 2019 Funplus Pheonix vs G2 Esports Live Streaming
If you want to enjoy the LoL worlds live stream – either to cheer on your bets or simply to watch the action unfold, you can do so in a number of different ways.
There will be the usual avenues on YouTube and Twitch of course, but we believe that the best way to watch the match will be via one of the bookmakers’ live streaming feeds.
That way, you can enjoy high quality HD streaming, with minimal buffering (because there’s typically fewer people watching than on Twitch or YouTube), and of course you are in the best place to have an in-play wager if you spot some value in the market!
We particularly recommend the live streaming channel available at Thunderpick, but of course plenty of other bookies will be live streaming the LoL World Championship final as well.
All that’s left to say is enjoy the big event, and good luck with your betting!
