The 2020 Six Nations Championship will be the 21st addition of the tournament in its current format. The six competing nations are England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and France with the rugby Six Nations Championship 2020 date set for the 1st of February with a game between Wales and Italy at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.
This will be the first major tournament for these nations following the 2019 Rugby World Cup which was won by South Africa. England reached the final of that competition and will be hoping they can continue their progress by winning the 2020 Six Nations Championship. However, they are set to face strong opposition in Ireland and Wales, the latter of which are the defending champions following their Grand Slam last year.
Continue below as we look ahead to the Six Nations betting with our rugby Six Nations Championship 2020 predictions. You will also find the latest Six Nations betting odds.
1. Rugby Six Nations Championship
Wales enjoyed a very successful 2019 Six Nations as they not only finished top of the table but also went undefeated throughout the campaign. This means they are the reigning Grand Slam champions and will be keen to make it back-to-back undefeated Six Nations competitions for the first time since 1909.
On the back after their success in the Six Nations last year, Wales went on to reach the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup, losing to eventual winners South Africa. However, following that tournament coach Warren Gatland stepped down from his position and was replaced by Wayne Pivac. The change of coach may be one of the major reasons why, despite their strong record over the past 12 months, Wales find themselves third in the Six Nations winner odds at 6/1 with Bet365.
The new coach will be hoping to add some of the ambitious offensive play he showed when in charge at the Scarlets but this tournament may have come a little early for him to get across all his ideas to the players.

2. Six Nations - Favourites
There's no doubt England were very disappointed not to come away with the trophy having reached the final of the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Having defeated New Zealand in the semi-final of the tournament, England were confident of repeating that success in the final against South Africa but came out second best.
On the basis of their performance at the 2019 Rugby World Cup plus the away victory against Ireland in the Six Nations, the Six Nations betting odds have England as the 8/11 favourites with Bet365 to win the 2020 Six Nations Championship.
England have what may be considered a tough start to their campaign as they face two away matches at France and Scotland. However, they will not be fazed by this challenge and know if they can come away with victories from both games it will set them up perfectly for the matches to come against Ireland and Wales. There may be some changes to the team from last year but with huge strength in depth and some of the best attacking players in world rugby, it is difficult to look beyond England as potential winners.
3. Six Nations Betting
Next in our Six Nations Championship 2020 predictions we move on to Ireland, who finished 3rd last year having suffered defeats against Wales away and England at home. 2019 started with many people predicting Ireland would be the team which pushed New Zealand closest at the Rugby World Cup but they failed to deliver.
Their disappointing World Cup saw a poor group stage defeat to Japan and a comprehensive loss against New Zealand in the quarter-final of the tournament. Ireland have plenty of high quality players to call upon in their squad but the continued injury concerns surrounding Johnny Sexton is an issue. Sexton has been named as the new captain of the Ireland team as Andy Farrell named his first squad in charge of the Irish but remains a doubt for the start of the competition due to a knee injury.
Ireland have a point to prove following 2019 and also get to play three of their five games at home. This sees them second in the Six Nations betting to win the tournament priced at 7/2 with Bet365.
4. Six Nations 2020 Betting Odds
As has been the case in recent years, France, Scotland and Italy are expected to finish in the bottom half of the table. On their day, France can compete with any of the 3 nations highlighted above and have several young talented players coming through including Demba Bamba, Gregory Alldritt, Romain Ntamack, Damien Penaud, Antoine Dupont and Thomas Ramos.
The Six Nations betting odds have France at 7/1 with Bet365 to win the tournament and Scotland and Italy are out at 20/1 and 1000/1 respectively.
