Bundesliga Betting Tips

Let’s take a look in our Bundesliga betting tips. Bayern Munich will be hoping to make it a perfect ten in the German Bundesliga this season – that is, a tenth straight league title win. Can anybody stop them? Having priced the champions at 1.22, the bookmakers certainly don’t think so….but do we?

As sure as night follows day, Bayern win the Bundesliga – that has been the way in the past decade, anyway. But are cracks starting to appear? They won the title with 78 points in 2020/21, but that was their lowest points haul since 2011/12. Bayern conceded 44 league goals too….their worst defensive record since 1995/96!

They have brought in Julian Nagelsmann as head coach, and he is an exciting manager with an excellent Bundesliga record – a win ratio of 47.19% from 230 games with Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig is outstanding. That is likely to increase even further in Munich – that is the safest of our German League predictions.

Of course, for Bayern to lose the title they will simply need somebody to be better than them. But can we see RB Leipzig or Borussia Dortmund stepping up to the mark? In this Bundesliga betting preview, that’s what we aim to find out.

1. Bundesliga 2021/2022 Preview

As we know, Bayern were vulnerable defensively last term, and they have already set about ringing the changes. David Alaba and Jerome Boateng have been released, and Dayot Upamecano – who Nagelsmann worked with at Leipzig – has been brought in.

The expectation will be that Niklas Sule steps up to partner the new man in defence, and that has the potential to be an excellent duo for years to come, and that helps us in our German Bundesliga best bets.

Otherwise, Bayern have been fairly quiet in the transfer window, but that is fine really when you have the likes of Lewandowski, Muller, Gnabry, Kimmich, Coman and more to call upon. When you put it like that, it’s no wonder that they dominate the Bundesliga winner odds!

RB Leipzig, who were Bayern’s nearest rivals last season, have had to find themselves a new head coach, and they have opted for Jesse Marsch – he has come through the Red Bull ‘academy’ by managing RB Salzburg to back-to-back league titles in Austria.

I think Bayern are, as always, the favourite but not as clear as in the last couple of years because there have been a lot of changes. I'm mainly thinking about Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig. We still have to see about [Bayer] Leverkusen and Gladbach but it could be an exciting three-pronged race in the Bundesliga for the championship this season. - Lothar Matthäus, the German football legend, Bundesliga official website

But in German Bundesliga soccer betting, we always prefer to stick to what we know. This is comfortably Marsch’s most high profile job, and having lost Upamecano to Bayern he doesn’t exactly start on the front foot. They have signed Josko Gvardiol and Mohamed Simakan, both of who can play centre back, Benjamin Hendrichs and Angelino at full back and Andre Silva – he who scored 28 Bundesliga goals for Frankfurt last term – in attack. If anything, Leipzig have had a positive transfer window.

No discussion of the Bundesliga betting lines is complete without mention of Borussia Dortmund. They lost a staggering 10 league games last term but still only finished 14 points behind Bayern, so all hope is not lost if they can regroup.

Their new coach, Marco Rose, is highly-rated from his time at Borussia M’gladbach, and he will be tasked of turning this young squad with bags of potential into genuine title contenders. He will need to replace the goal contributions of Jadon Sancho (eight goals, eleven assists), who has left for Manchester United, but new signing Donyell Malen (19 goals, eight assists for PSV last season) might just be up to the mark.

No discussion of the German Bundesliga needs to go past this point as far as potential winners are concerned, and in our Bundesliga predictions we are happy to go with Bayern-Leipzig-Dortmund as the most likely 1-2-3 in the league table.

Whichever team you decide to bet on, you can always take advantage of the knowledge base of tipsters who offer predictions on their chosen leagues and matches. You can find the article about them in one of the articles on our website.

2. Bundesliga Winner Predictions

But in which exact order will they finish? Based on all of the facts, we have to make Bayern the pick of our German Bundesliga betting tips to make it ten in a row. Not only do they have the best squad, they also have an exciting young coach in Nagelsmann and he will surely help to iron out some of their vulnerabilities.

If Andre Silva is as prolific this season as he was last, RB Leipzig will finish second in our German Bundesliga predictions. They will face competition from a rejuvenated Dortmund though, who are blessed with potential and who also have a new head coach that has a habit of winning football matches.

A word too about Wolfsburg, who really impressed last term before running out of steam towards the end of the season. They have been quiet in the transfer market but, crucially, they haven’t lost any key figures either – fourth place for them is another Bundesliga betting option to consider.

3. Bundesliga Betting Odds

As you will know, there are lots of different options in the German Bundesliga betting odds. The most widely bet-upon is the winner market, and it really is hard to see past Bayern Munich here – so much so that their super-short odds of 1.22 are almost still value.

The top four finish is another interesting market, and as we’ve seen from our Bundesliga betting predictions we would be placing Dortmund (1.08) and Leipzig (1.44) in this category. But we can get an excellent price on Wolfsburg, who finished fourth last season and they are 2.50 to repeat the feat in 2021/22.

Other Bundesliga betting odds include the relegation market, where FC Koln – who survived by the skin of their teeth last season – are amongst the favourites alongside the promoted teams Greuther Furth and Bochum.
