After winning Euro 2020 this summer, the Italy players involved will be treated like kings this season – that’s one of the safest Italian Serie A predictions that we can make! Interestingly, the bookmakers have made Juventus their 2.62 favourites to lift the trophy, despite the fact they finished a full 12 points behind champions Inter Milan last term. So can they make up for such a deficit in 2021/22 without Ronaldo in their squad?

Top 3 Serie A Favourites
Juventus, Inter Milan, Atalanta
Inter ended Juve’s nine-year monopoly on the Serie A title last season, however they have since lost their head coach Antonio Conte, who has been replaced by Simone Inzaghi. There’s change at the top at Juventus too, and a positive one – the inexperienced Andrea Pirlo given the boot and replaced by old favourite Max Allegri, who guided the Old Lady to five league titles and a pair of Champions League finals.
Maybe it’s justified that Juve are the best priced in the Italy Serie A winner betting odds then, but what will unfold this season?
Any Serie A betting preview has to start at the top, and so Inter are the first team under the microscope.
They only lost three times in the league last season, and that is a hint at their dominance. They had the best defensive record and only Atalanta scored more goals, so Inter’s success was born out of quality at both ends of the pitch. So shouldn’t they be favourites in the Serie A outright 2021/22 betting odds?
Possibly, but the loss of Conte will hurt, and perhaps a backward step in the transfer window could also be a factor. That’s why we’re looking elsewhere in our Italian football betting tips.
There's so much quality throughout this squad. Every coach has their own ideas but what I find reassuring is seeing the lads working with so much effort and commitment. That's the most important thing you want to see as a coach. - Simone Inzaghi, Inter official website
Juventus will feel like a team reborn under Allegri, and if he can cajole big performances from ageing stars like Leonardo Bonucci and Juan Cuadrado then there’s no reason why the Turin outfit can’t reclaim their dominance. However, the loss of such an amazing player as Ronaldo will certainly hurt and require more involvement from other players.
You wonder how many Serie A betting picks will go for Atalanta, the free-spirited underdogs that netted a whopping 90 goals last season? They certainly have the firepower to win the league title, and they are always a joy to watch too.
It will be interesting to see what Luciano Spalletti brings to Napoli, with the two-time Serie A coach of the year enjoying a win ratio of some 50% in his managerial career, while the likes of AC Milan, Lazio and Roma will also be in and around the upper echelons of the table.
Unsurprisingly, Spezia and Cagliari are in amongst the favourites in the Serie A betting lines for relegation after hanging on last term, with newcomers Salernitana and Venezia hoping they can avoid the dreaded drop.
The Serie A betting is shaping up quite nicely then, but what will happen in the 2021/22 season?
2. Serie A Predictions
As well as Conte, Inter have lost 23 goal contributions from last season – Achraf Hakimi and Ashley Young have left the club, and of course we await news on the condition of Christian Eriksen after his heart condition emerged in the summer.
There’s still goals for fun from the likes of Lautaro Martinez, but Inter do have the feel of a team that have gone backwards a little.
Juventus still leads the way in many Italy Serie A betting tips and with Allegri back on board they may be a winning machine again, however without Cristiano Ronaldo winning the Serie A will certainly be a bigger challenge than it used to be.
There’s no such problem at Atalanta, and our Serie A betting predictions believe they can upset the natural order and clinch the title. They have hung onto their key players, while in goal Juan Musso could be an improvement on predecessor Pierluigi Gollini.
AC Milan have lost Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu, and so they might struggle, and with neither Lazio nor Roma kicking on in the transfer window our Italian Serie A predictions expect a showdown for the title between Atalanta and Juventus.
Other Italian Serie A betting odds are available, and in the top four finish market it’s Napoli at 2.10 and Roma at 2.00 who we’ll be taking to join the aforementioned trio there. The former only finished two points behind AC Milan in second place last term, and have retained all of their key players.
At the other end of the table, most Italian Serie A betting tips will have the three promoted teams as those most likely to face relegation, but a bet here might well be Cagliari at tasty odds of 4.00. They only survived last term due to a late rally, and in the end they lost 19 of their 38 games played.
